- The Toowoomba Gallery, 60 Russell St
Brisbane artists Kate Quinn and Emily Day, and sensational guest artist Helen McCullagh, are coming to Toowoomba for two magical days in September. You will enjoy a very special day of art, yoga, food, wine and flowers, immersed in the visual feast of The Toowoomba Gallery, during the famous Carnival of Flowers. Running on Thursday the 15th September from 9am-6pm, you will learn how to paint a simple floral still life in a small group, in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Suitable for beginners, as well as those with some hobby painting experience, you will spend a day learning new artistic skills while chatting and laughing with new or old friends. At lunchtime we will enjoy a delicious catered picnic in the park, during the Carnival of Flowers, when Toowoomba comes alive with floral colour. A local wine merchant will be joining us at lunch to offer us glasses of specially selected bubbles - to help loosen our brushstrokes ;) Each morning, we are offering an optional yoga class, just down the road at Antara Studios. Yoga runs from 7-7.45 both days, and is exclusively for Bloom students. Suitable for absolute beginners. After class, from 5-6, we will enjoy a sumptuous platter of cheeses and canapés with matched wine, while enjoying an exclusive art shopping opportunity in the gallery with gallery owners Bec and Niki. Helen, Emily and Kate will spread the small class of 16 students into 'acrylics' and 'oils' painting groups, and will provide creative guidance in a non-judgemental, kind and supportive way. Emily, Kate, Helen, Bec and Niki look forward to welcoming you to a very unique day in Toowoomba. What to bring: Please wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on. All materials, food and drinks are provided. You may wish to bring a cardboard box to help you safely transport your painting home. Paintings are 30x30cm and may not be dry by the end of your class. A note about cancellations: Classes are fully refundable upon request up to 14 days prior to the date you have booked. This allows us to offer your place to another customer. Classes cancelled in the 14 days leading up to the event are not refundable, unless we are able to fill your spot with someone on a waiting list - which we think is quite likely! - and in this case we are more than happy to refund you. If in the unlikely event the class needs to be cancelled due to host/artist illness or other unexpected event, we will fully refund participants.
Classes are refundable upon request up to 14 days prior to the date you have booked. Classes cancelled in the fortnight leading up to the event are not refundable, sorry. However, if we are able to fill your spot with someone on the waitlist, we will be able to offer you a refund.
